Facts
about humidity and compressed air...
Did you know that on a day when the temperature is 75 degrees and the relative humidity is 75%, a 100
C.F.M. air compressor operating at 100 PSIG will collect up to 18 gallons of water in a 24 hour period. NO Kidding!
An after cooler that cools the hot compressed air down to 95 deg F. will remove about 68% accumulation (12.25 gals) of that moisture. A refrigerated air drier installed after the after cooler which cools the air down to 35-39 Deg F, will remove another 28% (5 gals) of that moisture.
The remaining 4% (.75 Gals) will stay in vapor form as long as the compressed air temperature stays above 35 Deg F. That's pretty darn dry air right there!
But if necessary, in order to remove the last remaining moisture, you would need to install a regenerative air drier which will dry the compressed air down to a -40 Deg F. pressure dew point. You can make it happen! |
